Master Carpenter Gordon Barber of Norwich extended his bungalow in 1962 by building a room in the roof space, very soon neighbours in the same area asked him to convert their loft space into bedrooms. Thus started G & G Barber Loft Conversions, the business grew steadily and by the early 70s my Grandfather now joined by his two sons, Graham and Gavin were converting in excess of 25 lofts per year. By the 80s the business now called Barber Loft Conversions was converting some 40 lofts per year right across East Anglia, being pioneers of this form of home improvement it was natural that Barber's were first to convert roofs with truss construction. Throughout the 90s and into the 21st century the business then owned by Gavin has continued to convert lofts for many growing families.

Now operated by Stuart Barber (Gordon's Grandson) and with Gavin working in a Consultancy capacity barber-lofts is uniquely experienced to help you and your family improve your standard of living by extending rather than moving.

We design and build your loft-conversion to meet the latest stringent structural regulations as well as to the highest thermal requirements. On site construction can take as little as three weeks, minimising disruption to your living conditions, once planning and building regulation is received.

We provide a fixed price quotation before you are committed and will prepare the necessary plans, provide structural calculations and negotiate with the Local Authority on your behalf once instructed.
