Increasingly now we are invited to look at properties where a loft conversion is not physically possible due to height restraints, the ridge level being too low, existing spaces are reduced during conversion due to structural floor installation and insulation required and added to the slopes, therefore a guide as a minimum for conversion would be 2.5m.
Where we do not have sufficient height, we will look at the possibility of raising the roof. This is only really possible with detached properties, we will consider the planning restraints in the area and assuming that the raised roof would be looked at favourably by the local planners, we will design and construct a new attic space with sufficient height for the rooms as desired.
We have completed many of these types of conversions and although these tend to be a more expensive type of conversion, they will often transform the existing property in a way that was hard to imagine.
